TORDESILLAS TREATIES
Madrid 1990

The Tordesillas Treaties were signed in 1494 by the Catholic Monarchs and John II of Portugal, and established demarcation lines for the New World. The originals are conserved in the National Archive at Torre do Tombo in Lisbon, and the Indies Archive in Seville.

The facsimile consists of eight pages of 32 x 23 cm approx, with reproductions of the royal seals. The accompanying volume includes a description, transcription and translation by Professor Tomás Marín Martínez of Madrid Complutense University and Professor José Manuel Ruiz Asencio of the University of Valladolid; an English version is available.

Limited edition of 980 numbered copies certified by notary.
